SACO Storage Practices

System Integrity Through Controlled Environments

The long-term reliability and precision of SACO Controls display systems begin long before final commissioning. To ensure the structural and electronic integrity of your mission-critical infrastructure, we have established rigorous storage protocols designed to mitigate environmental degradation and physical stress. The following recommended practices apply to short-term storage for up to two (2) years and are essential for maintaining the high performance standards of your equipment prior to deployment.

Recommended Storage Practices

It is recommended that the equipment be stored in a controlled environment, as follows:

Ambient Temperature:
- Minimum: 4°C (40°F)
- Optimum: 25°C (77°F)
- Maximum: 70°C (160°F)
- Maximum Rate of Change: 6°C (11°F) in 30 minutes
Humidity (non-condensing):
- Minimum: 20%
- Optimum: 50%
- Maximum: 80%
- Maximum Rate of Change: 10% in 30 minutes
The storage area should be:
- Rodent- and pest-free / Insect-controlled
- Equipped with fire sensing, alarm, and prevention systems
- Located in a key-lock and personnel-controlled area
- Kept free of all combustible material

Operational Precautions

It is further recommended that the equipment be protected from airborne dust, corrosive gases, condensation, water leaks, water accumulation, handling damage, and excessive vibration. The equipment should be stored in a non-energized state. The location of the storage facility should be such that heavy equipment is not moved overhead (such as by crane).

Additional Handling Practices

Lifting: All units must be moved using a platform (pallet) so that no forces are exerted on the side panels, doors, or tops.
Inventory Flow: Units should be stored in a “last-in, first-out” manner to minimize re-handling.
Orientation: All units should remain upright. If tilting is necessary for movement, ensure all unsecured parts are fastened and return the unit to upright immediately. Tilting should not exceed a 10-degree inclination.
Safety: Equipment must not be dropped.
Cabling: Cables should be stacked on 2x4 lumber. The stack height should not exceed 3 feet.
Care: Exercise extreme caution in storing and handling cables to prevent damage to terminations and outer coverings.
